Saltillo Donut Dash 5K

Race Overview

The Saltillo Jr. Women’s Club (SJWC) is planning to host our second annual Donut Dash in Saltillo, Mississippi, on Saturday, April 18th, 2026. This run is a major fundraiser for the Saltillo Jr Women’s Clubs Blessing Bags and Shining Stars programs.

Blessing Bags Program

• Description: A backpack program supplying children in need within the Saltillo/Guntown schools with food items for the weekends.
• Contents: The bags include breakfast, lunch, and snack options: all items are non-perishable and kid-friendly.
• Current Support: We currently provide 78 children with Blessing Bags weekly.
• Monthly Cost: The total monthly cost is roughly $1,650 or approximately $21 per child.

Shining Stars Program

• Purpose: Serves Saltillo/Guntown students during Christmas time by providing clothing and gifts.
• Items Provided: Each child receives 3 shirts, 3 pairs of pants, 1 jacket/hoodie, underwear, socks, a pair of shoes, and a toiletry bag.
• Wishlist Items: Children also receive wishlist item(s) budgeted at $50 for a toy or special item.
• Sponsor Agreement: Sponsors are asked to cover the costs of an entire star at $200, although the actual costs have risen.

Anonymity and Future Goals

For both programs, students are identified by teachers and counselors to preserve anonymity within the club. We hope to see the Donut Dash grow in popularity to completely support both programs and expand assistance year-round.
