Route 66 10K

Race Overview

Hosted by the Metro Milers running club, the Route 66 10K features as part of the City of Edwardsville's Route 66 Festival. The festival and race are held in Edwardsville's City Park on the same Saturday as the festival every year in June.

As of the best races in the Midwest, the Route 66 10K is regularly the RRCA's Championship 10K those years it is eligible. This event is tailored to be enjoyed by all who participate as runners, walkers, and volunteers. Being a community-oriented event, a portion of the race budget is dedicated every year to benefit local not-for-profit organizations, and proceeds are used to promote physical fitness and activity in the Metro East.

Awards and Registration

• Age Group Awards: Awards (in 5 year bins) will be awarded to in-person participants.
• Participant Shirts: All registrants will receive a high-quality technical shirt and finisher swag item.
• Registration Disclaimer: Race organizers reserve the right to close registration due to capacity limits.
• Weather Policy: Race organizers reserve the right to delay or cancel event due to extreme weather conditions or unforeseen circumstances.

Parking recommendations will be sent to participants with their race day instructions.

Packet Pickup

• Requirements: Registered participants are required to pick up their packet before the start of the race, which includes your race bib and timing chip.
• Friday Pickup: Friday pick-up Noon - 6:00 PM at Location TBD.
• Saturday Pickup: Saturday, race day 6:30 AM - 8:00 AM at City Park, at the Metro Milers tent on the park grounds.

Schedule of Events

• 6:30 AM: Packet pick-up opens.
• 7:45 AM: Packet pick-up closes.
• 8:00 AM: Race start.
• 10:00 AM: Awards ceremony at the park bandstand.

Rules and Regulations

• Bib Transfers: Allowing a non-registered runner to use your bib is NOT PERMITTED.
• Waivers: All registered participants will sign a waiver agreeing to the race rules during the registration process.
• Insurance Coverage: Our race insurance covers registered runners only.
• Prohibited Items: Pets, baby joggers/strollers, in-line skates, bicycles, and any other non-official wheeled vehicles are prohibited during the race.

Water Stations

Hydration stops will be placed along the race route (indicated on the course map) and will have water and Gatorade available.

Finisher Items

All participants who finish in person will receive a Leslie Jordan brand technical shirt, and an additional swag item. Virtual participants will have their finisher items mailed or delivered.

Timing and Results

This race will use bib tag timing. Your timing chip will be affixed to the back side of your bib number. Please do not remove your timing chip. Live race day results provided by Final Lap Racing.

Awards

Awards will be given to top three finishers in the following group categories for in-person participants only: Overall, Overall Masters (40+), 14 and younger, 15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70+.
