Route 66 10K

🏁 Event Overview

Hosted by the Metro Milers running club, the Route 66 10K features as part of the City of Edwardsville's Route 66 Festival. The festival and race are held in Edwardsville's City Park on the same Saturday as the festival every year in June.

🏆 Race Highlights

• Noteworthy Recognition: As of the best races in the Midwest, the Route 66 10K is regularly the RRCA's Championship 10K those years it is eligible.
• Community Focus: This event is tailored to be enjoyed by all who participate as runners, walkers, and volunteers.
• Local Support: A portion of the race budget is dedicated every year to benefit local not-for-profit organizations.
• Healthy Initiatives: Proceeds are used to promote physical fitness and activity in the Metro East.

🏅 Awards and Swag

Age group awards (in 5 year bins) will be awarded to in person participants, and all registrants will receive a high quality technical shirt and finisher swag item.

⚠️ Registration Disclaimer

• Registration Closure: Race organizers reserve the right to close registration due to capacity limits.
• Weather Conditions: Race organizers reserve the right to delay or cancel event due to extreme weather conditions or unforeseen circumstances.
• Prohibited Items: The following are prohibited during the race: pets, baby joggers/strollers, in-line skates, bicycles, and any other non-official wheeled vehicles.
• No Refunds: All registrations are final and there are no refunds.

🎟️ Packet Pick Up

Registered participants are required to pick up their packet before the start of the race. Your packet includes your race bib and timing chip. If you're unable to attend packet pick-up, someone may pick up your packet on your behalf. Please choose one of the following packet pick up options:

• Friday: Pick-up TBD
• Saturday: Race Day 6:30 AM - 8:00 AM at City Park, at the Metro Milers tent on the park grounds.

📅 Schedule of Events

• 6:30 AM: Packet pick-up opens
• 7:45 AM: Packet pick-up closes
• 8:00 AM: Race start
• 10:00 AM: Awards ceremony

🚫 Bib Transfers

Allowing a non-registered runner to use your bib is NOT PERMITTED for two reasons:

• Waiver Agreement: All registered participants will sign a waiver agreeing to the race rules during the registration process.
• Insurance Coverage: Our race insurance covers registered runners only. It does not cover someone who is running under someone else's name/bib number.

💧 Water Stations

Hydration stops will be placed along the race route (indicated on the course map), and will have water and Gatorade available.

👕 Participant Shirt & Finisher Swag

All participants who finish either in person will receive a Leslie Jordan brand technical shirt, and an additional swag item. Virtual participants will have their finisher items mailed or delivered.

⏱️ Timing & Results

This race will use bib tag timing. Your timing chip will be affixed to the back side of your bib number. Please do not remove your timing chip.

🏅 Awards

Awards will be given to top three finishers in the following group categories for in person participants only:

Overall, Overall Masters (40+), 14 and younger, 15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70+.
