Route 66 10K

Race Overview

Hosted by the Metro Milers running club, the Route 66 10K features as part of the City of Edwardsville's Route 66 Festival. The festival and race are held in Edwardsville's City Park on the same Saturday as the festival every year in June.

As of the best races in the Midwest, the Route 66 10K is regularly the RRCA's Championship 10K those years it is eligible. This event is tailored to be enjoyed by all who participate as runners, walkers, and volunteers. Being a community-oriented event, a portion of the race budget is dedicated every year to benefit local not-for-profit organizations, and proceeds are used to promote physical fitness and activity in the Metro East.

Awards and Swag

• Age Group Awards: Age group awards (in 5 year bins) will be awarded to in-person participants.
• Technical Shirt: All registrants will receive a high quality technical shirt.
• Finisher Swag: Participants will also receive a finisher swag item.

Registration Disclaimer

• Closure of Registration: Race organizers reserve the right to close registration due to capacity limits.
• Event Cancellation: Race organizers reserve the right to delay or cancel the event due to extreme weather conditions or unforeseen circumstances.
• Prohibitions: The following are prohibited during the race: pets, baby joggers/strollers, in-line skates, bicycles, and any other non-official wheeled vehicles.
• No Refunds: All registrations are final and there are no refunds.

Packet Pick-Up

Registered participants are required to pick up their packet before the start of the race. Your packet includes your race bib and timing chip. If you're unable to attend packet pick-up, someone may pick up your packet on your behalf.

Please choose one of the following packet pick-up options:

• Friday Pick-Up: Noon - 6:00 PM at RunWell Trace Parkway location, 6120 Shoger Drive Ste D, Edwardsville.
• Race Day Pick-Up: Saturday, 6:30 AM - 8:00 AM at City Park, 101 S Buchanan St, Edwardsville, at the Metro Milers tent on the park grounds.

Schedule of Events

• 6:30 AM: Packet pick-up opens.
• 7:45 AM: Packet pick-up closes.
• 8:00 AM: Race start.
• 10:00 AM: Awards ceremony at the park bandstand.

Bib Transfers

Allowing a non-registered runner to use your bib is NOT PERMITTED. There are two reasons for this rule:

• Waiver Agreement: All registered participants will sign a waiver agreeing to the race rules during the registration process.
• Insurance Coverage: Our race insurance covers registered runners only, not someone running under another's name/bib number.

Water Stations

Hydration stops will be placed along the race route (indicated on the course map), and will have water and Gatorade available.

Participant Shirt & Finisher Swag

All participants who finish will receive a Scimitar brand technical shirt and an additional swag item.

Timing & Results

This race will use bib tag timing. Your timing chip will be affixed to the back side of your bib number. Please do not remove your timing chip.

Awards

Awards will be given to top three finishers in the following group categories for in-person participants only: Overall, Overall Masters (40+), 14 and younger, 15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70+.
