Race Description

• Festival Feature:The Route 66 10K is part of the City of Edwardsville's Route 66 Festival, held in City Park every June.
• Reputation: Recognized as one of the best races in the Midwest, regularly awarded RRCA's Championship 10K.
• Community Focus: A portion of the race budget benefits local not-for-profit organizations.
• Participation: Open to runners, walkers, and volunteers, promoting physical fitness in the Metro East.

Awards and Registration

• Age Group Awards: Presented in 5 year bins for in-person participants.
• Participant Gear: All registrants receive a high-quality technical shirt and a finisher swag item.
• Registration Disclaimer: Closure of registration may occur due to capacity limits or extreme weather.
• Prohibited Items: Pets, baby joggers/strollers, in-line skates, bicycles, and non-official wheeled vehicles are not allowed.

Packet Pickup

• Requirement: Registered participants must pick up their packet before the race.
• Packet Contents: Includes race bib and timing chip.
• Pickup Options: Friday from Noon - 6:00 PM: Saturday from 6:30 AM - 8:00 AM at City Park.
• Delegate Pickup: Another person may pick up your packet if you are unable to attend.

Schedule of Events

• 6:30 AM: Packet pickup opens
• 7:45 AM: Packet pickup closes
• 8:00 AM: Race start
• 10:00 AM: Awards ceremony at the park bandstand

Rules and Regulations

• Bib Transfers: Non-registered runners may not use your bib due to waiver and insurance requirements.
• Insurance Coverage: Only registered runners are covered by our race insurance.
• Water Stations: Hydration stops will be available during the race with water and Gatorade.
• Event Safety: Detailed safety requirements will be communicated leading up to the event.

Finisher Items

• Participant Shirt: All in-person finishers receive a Leslie Jordan brand technical shirt.
• Finisher Swag: Additional swag item for all participants.
• Virtual Participants: Swag items will be mailed or delivered.
• Timing: Bib tag timing will be used for this race.

Awards

• Overall Awards: Top three finishers in various categories will receive awards.
• Age Categories: Awards presented for age brackets from 14 and younger to 70+.
• Participation: Awards only available to in-person participants.
• Encouragement: We look forward to seeing you on race morning!
