The Powder Keg is a perennial favorite. Explore the many trails of Carter Park which is behind the Historic Kings Mansion. The course will be fun and challenging. You will do a loop that will take you to down near the Little Miami River. Follow along the river on the old abandoned King Road. Explore an old dam. Climb the "Stairway to Heaven". Race distance is listed as 3.5 miles. However, your mileage may vary. This is the sixth event of the Dirt Days Trail Series.

Parking:

• Availability: Plenty of FREE parking is available at the school adjacent to the park.
• Location: Carter Park is located behind the old Kings Mansion on King Avenue just North of Kings Island. Carter Park Web Page.
• Directions: I-71 to Kings Mills Exit. Go East past Columbia. Kings Mills turns into King Ave. Mansion is on the Left.

The Course:

• Scenery: Scenic course explores the trails of the Historic Kings Mansion.
• Challenge: Fun and challenging loop will take you down near the Little Miami River.
• Highlights: Follow along the river on the old abandoned King Road, explore an old dam, and make your ascent to the top via a series of steps.
• Distance: Race distance is listed as 3.5 miles. However, your mileage may vary.

Run Divisions:

Men & Women: 14/under, 15-18, 19-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, and 70/over.

Walk Divisions:

Men & Women: 29/under, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60/over.

Awards:

• Individual Event Awards: Awards to overall male and female runner and walker.
• Age Group Awards: Presented immediately after the race based on the above divisions.
• Door Prizes: Randomly drawn door prizes. You must be present to win any random drawing.

T-Shirts:

Powder Keg T-shirts (Short Sleeved) are available for $12 while supplies last. Sign up early if you know you want one to be sure to get the size that you want.

We will have a variety of treats for you.

Registration Fee:

Registration Fee: $22.50. Online registration only. NEW in 2024 - Kids 14 and under will receive a $5 discount at checkout.

Race Day Registration and Pick Up:

There is no early packet pick up for this event. Check in on day of race is from 7:30 am through 8:45 am. There is no paper registration. Sign up online prior to coming or you can sign up with your mobile phone.
