🍗 Poultry and Pie Predictor Overview
- Tradition: A Will County Thanksgiving tradition for more than 40 years!
- Host: Join Prairie State Road Runners for another running of the Poultry & Pie Predictor.
- Location: Beautiful Pilcher Park located in Joliet, IL.
- Venue: We are back at the Nature Center!
⏱️ Prediction Run Details
- Leave Devices: Leave your watches and timing devices at home!
- Chance to Win: All runners - regardless of speed - have a chance to win a Thanksgiving prize!
- Predictions: Enter and predict how long it will take you to complete the 4-mile course.
- Rewards: Those closest to their prediction will choose between a variety of gift cards and holiday sweets.
🎶 Race Etiquette
- No Aids: We ask that you refrain from using watches, phones, music players, or anything that will help you keep pace.
- Honor System: You're on the honor system! Just enjoy the park scenery.
👶 Kids Races
- Start Time: The 1 Mile Kids race will start at 8:40 am.
- Ages: This race is for kids ages 6-12 and each finisher will receive a goodie.
- Toddler Dash: Our littlest runners age 5 & under can line up for the 25-yd Toddler Gobbler dash. This event is FREE.
- Goodies: Each little champion will receive a bag of goodies.
🚗 Logistics
- Location: All races start and end at the Pilcher Park Nature Center (2501 Highland Park Drive) in Joliet.
- No Registration: There will be no race day registration, so please use our online registration service.
- Parking: Parking is VERY limited, so plan to carpool and/or arrive early for the best spots.
- Volunteers: We will have volunteers enlisted to help you find a spot.
☔ Weather Policy
- Outdoor Event: This will be an outdoor event that will take place regardless of the weather (unless there is a blizzard!).
- Snow Clearing: The park roads will be cleared in the event of snow, but there will be no shelter from the elements.
- Facilities: The building will be closed, but participants will have access to the indoor bathrooms.
- Post-Race: All post-race activities will be conducted in the picnic area behind the building.

- Provided: Refreshments will be provided.
📅 Schedule of Events
- 7:45am - 8:45am: Check-In
- 8:40am: Kids 1 Mile
- 9:00am: 4 Mile Run/Walk
- 10:20am: Toddler Gobbler 25 Yard Dash
- 10:30am: Awards Ceremony
⌛ Timing Information
- Hand-Timed: This is NOT a chipped time race. This race will be hand-timed.
- Results: Results will not be immediately available online, but will be posted at a later time.
