Lost River Trail Run

🏞️ Race Overview

• Location: Lost River State Park, Mathias, WV
• Date: May 3, 2025
• Course Details: Challenging running course through wooded mountain trails with hilly sections and some pavement.
• Distances: Options include a 1 mile out and back or a 4.5 mile loop (repeat for 4.5 miles, 9 miles, or half-marathon).

⏰ Event Schedule

• Check-in: Begins at 8:00 AM at the Lee Sulfur Spring Shelter.
• Race Start: 9:00 AM for 9 miler and half marathon, 10:00 AM for 1 miler and 4.5 miler.

• Note: Routes and distances may change due to trail conditions on race day.

💰 Beneficiary

• Lost River Trails Coalition: A non-profit dedicated to maintaining and developing trails in Lost River State Park.
• Funds: Support trail maintenance and the development of mountain biking trails.
• Cryptids Team: A National Interscholastic Cycling Association (NICA) mountain bike team for local students.

🏆 Awards

• Prizes: Top 3 male and female competitors in each distance (excluding 1 mile) will receive prizes.
• Participation: All participants will receive a T-shirt (while supplies last) and post-run pizza.
• Registration Deadline: Register by April 1 to guarantee your T-shirt.

🗺️ Course Details

• 1 Mile Course: Primarily paved out and back, available at this link.
• 4.5 Mile, 9 Mile, and Half Marathon: Participants will complete 1, 2, or 3 laps with aid stations at mile 1.6.
• Aid Stations: Located near the finish of each lap, see routes at this link.
• Best Viewing: Routes are best viewed using the OSM layer on Ride with GPS.
