The Strickland Family is pleased to announce the 2nd Annual Leah’s Legacy 5K Run/2 Mile Walk/Kid’s Fun Run on Sunday, Sept 21, 2025, at 5:00 pm. Last year we had close to 500 participants and look forward to a bigger/better Celebration in 2025!

📍 Race Location

The event will start at Charleston City Center (Slack Plaza), proceed towards the boulevard, and end back at Charleston City Center (Slack Plaza).

❤️ About Leah Strickland

Leah Strickland was active in multiple sports and very competitive with a “team first, ALL IN” attitude. She encouraged her teammates and put the best interests of her team and teammates before her own. On August 31, 2022, a few weeks into her freshman season, she lost her life in a car accident while coming home from a soccer game. The Strickland Family chose to honor Leah’s memory, character, and love of athletics by establishing a Memorial Scholarship Fund. This fund provides scholarships for Senior Athletes who embody those same characteristics.

🏆 Race Award Categories

• Top 3 Overall Male & Female: Recognizing the fastest overall finishers.
• Top Masters Male & Female (40+): Awards for the best finishers in the master category.
• Age Groups: Top Male & Female runners across various age brackets: 8 & under, 9-11, 12-14, 15-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70-79, 80-89.
• Top 3 Fastest Adult Teams: Teams must consist of a minimum of 5 members and be co-ed.
