In 2024 Hull of a Race raised $18,000 and donated $17,500 to the American Parkinson Disease Association Missouri Chapter (formerly known as Greater St. Louis APDA). $500.00 was spent to buy a storage cabinet for all the materials we have accumulated over the years, that we have been storing in private homes, sheds, garages, etc. This allows us to store these items safely in a secure central location. After that expense, 100% of the money raised goes to much needed Parkinson’s Research. Around 225 runners took part in our professionally timed race with many drawn by the fast times that they can achieve on our flat certified course. We welcomed the support and participation of a greater number of people fighting Parkinson's at Hull of a Race 2024.
We will welcome back those Parkinson’s fighters in 2025, with a more suitable and comfortable way for them to be able to attend and watch with chairs, comfort and transportation options between parking and race area. In 2025 we look forward to another fantastic opportunity to raise money for Parkinson’s Research. We will continue to provide stickers for runners to wear with names of people affected by Parkinson’s. Please let us know of names and addresses of those you know with Parkinson’s, so we can contact them or you about our race, stickers, and recognition. Also contact us if you would like to join our Pit Crew and help with the race. New members are always welcome. We hope you will walk or run in, and/or donate or simply join us at Hull of a Race in 2025. It is truly a heartwarming morning that will leave you with a good feeling for being a part of it! Please feel free to contact Jeanie Cox at 217-430-9476 or Pam Peters at 217-440-5523, if you would be willing to hand out flyers, help with advertising, or any other aspect of the race. Many hands-make the work lighter and most often more racers race, more people see our flyers, more people take part. We can use any person who wants to help in lots of ways.
Come join us Saturday August 16, 2025 for the 19th. annual Hull of a Race. Our Mission: A 501(C)(3) Public Charity. All proceeds from the event go to Parkinson's Research.
