Freedom 5k

🏃‍♂️ Welcome to the Freedom 5K

• Event Date: July 4th, 2025
• Location: Lynch Field, Greensburg, PA
• Registration: Early registration is open for a fee of $17.76 until May 31st, then $20 until race day when it is $25. Discounts for ages 19 and under and 65 and over remain at $20.
• Registration Tips: Register online to expedite signups on race day: t-shirt inventory can be selected during registration, with a $2 discount for “no shirt” option.

👶 Kids Sparkler Event

• Ages: Open to kids 10 years and under.
• Registration Fee: $10 per child, after/during the 5K.
• Location: Registration will take place by the soccer field lawn.
• Heats: Several heats will be organized based on kids’ availability.

📅 Packet Pickup Information

• Early Packet Pickup: Scheduled for July 3rd from Noon to 5 PM at the Gingerbreadman Running store (5142 Rt 30, Suite 165: Greensburg, PA).
• Door Prizes: Included in goody bags – check them after the race!
• T-Shirt Sale: Vintage t-shirts available for sale after the race: $5 each or 3 for $10.
• Registration: In-person registration available.

🏁 Race Day Details

• Wave Starts: Four waves beginning at 8:30 AM. Wave #1 for runners under 24-minute pace: additional waves for progressively slower runners and walkers.
• Guidelines: Please stay to the right half of the trail, especially in tunnels and curves.
• Water Stations: Located before the 1-mile mark going out and after the 2-mile mark on the way back.
• Safety Note: Avoid running on train tracks and be cautious around intersections.

🏆 Awards Information

• Overall Runners: Top 3 male & female runners by gun time: other awards based on chip time including top male & female masters (age 40+).
• Walkers: Top 3 male/female walkers by chip time.
• Age Group Awards: For runners and walkers across various age groups.
• Special Gifts: All 19/under walkers will receive a small gift.

🌐 Additional Information

• Event Benefits: Proceeds benefit the American Heart Association.
• Team Registration: Must be completed by July 3rd.
• Virtual Option: Participate in the Freedom Virtual 5K anytime from July 1-31, upload your time, and pick up a shirt after.
• Refund Policy: Refunds if the race is canceled: optional refunds if the date is moved.
