🏃‍♂️ Race Overview

In honor of Dustin M. Sekula, 18, of Edinburg, Texas: assigned to 2nd Battalion, 7th Marines, 1st Marine Division, I Marine Expeditionary Force, Twentynine Palms, Calif.: killed April 1, 2004, by hostile fire in Anbar province, Iraq.

The Freddy Gonzalez Legacy 5K is more than just a race—it is a tribute to Freddy Gonzalez, Dustin Sekula, and all the brave men and women who have made the ultimate sacrifice in service to our nation. As we come together this Memorial Day weekend, we run not only to remember them but also to ensure that their courage and sacrifice are never forgotten.

Join us on the route, embrace the memories, and let’s run in unity to honor these heroes who gave everything for our freedom.

📅 Event Details

• Race Day: Saturday, May 24, 2025
• Start Time: 7:30 a.m. (Kids run follows after)
• Location: Edinburg Municipal Park (714 S Raul Longoria Rd)

💰 Registration Fees

• 5K: $25 (Includes shirt, finisher medal, and chip timing)
• 1K Kids Run: $10 (Includes finisher medal only)

🏆 Age Group Awards

Age Group Awards will be given for both Male & Female categories in the following groups:

• 12 & Under
• 13-19
• 20-29
• 30-39
• 40-49
• 50-59
• 60-69
• 70+

🎓 Scholarship Fund

100% of profits will continue to be awarded to high school scholarships.
