Fort Custer "Defender" 5K

🏃‍♂️ Event Overview

• Date: Saturday, the 3rd of May 2025
• Location: Fort Custer Training Center, 2501 26th St, Bldg 2900, Augusta, MI
• Public Access: Open to the public (race form registration needed for access)
• Family Friendly: All abilities are welcome to participate

☀️ Activities and Amenities

• Fort Custer Museum: Open until noon
• Military Vehicle Display: Available on site
• Participatory Activities: Fun for kids of all ages
• Food Truck: Saint Samuels food truck here

👟 Participation Details

• Participants: Maximum number of participants will be limited to 250
• Entry Fee: $35 for the 5k run/walk
• Strollers: Allowed: please no pets
• Course: Flat, paved route with water stations

🎽 Swag and Awards

• Finishers Medal: All participants will receive a medal
• T-Shirt: T-shirts are not guaranteed for those registered after 15 April 2024
• Awards: Winners in M/F and age groups will be recognized
• Age Groups: 13 and under, 14-18, 19-25, 26-35, 36-45, 46-55, 56+

📅 Schedule

• Packet Pickup: Day of race along Custers First Stand: gates open at 0700
• Run/Walk Start: Begins at 0900
• Award Ceremony: At 1015
• Results: Live during the race and posted on the website

🚗 Parking Information

• Access: Proceed straight through the first stop sign, turn left at the second stop sign
• Parking Location: FCEC parking lot on the right
• Note: Certain roads will be blocked: check-in at Custers First Stand
• Search Policy: All vehicles are subject to search upon entry

💰 Proceeds

• Beneficiary: 177th Regiment RTI MWR and Ft Custer All Ranks Club
• Support: Provides support and services to Soldiers of Fort Custer
• Weapons and Drug Policy: Personally owned weapons and marijuana are not allowed
• Entry Policy: Violators will be barred from entry

📍 Location Note

A note about the location: The gated entrance utilized to gain access to Ft Custer Training Center is located at crossroads of Denso Road and Clark Road, Augusta MI. Allow time for entry to the installation. This event is located on an active military installation, all vehicles are subject to search upon entry. Personally owned weapons are not authorized. Marijuana is not allowed on military installations. Violators will be barred from entry.
