Flat & Fast Rural Hall 5K 10K

🏃‍♂️ Event Overview

• Event edition: This is the 18th running of this event and as usual, all race proceeds benefit the Rural Hall Elementary School.
• Timing: Both the 5K & 10K are USA Track & Field certified with a gun start and chip timing for accurate results.
• Start times: The 10K starts at 8am with the 5K at 8:15am to allow couples or friends to arrive together.
• Course details: Our 5K is perfect for younger runners, walkers wanting to support the school, families, or as a recovery race after a tougher summer due to it being a totally FLAT 5K course!

📍 Location Details

• Location: Mayflower Seafood Restaurant Parking Lot, 664 Montroyal Road, Rural Hall, NC 27045.
• Parking: Additional parking is available next door at Tractor Supply or across the street at Food Lion.
• Course layout: The 5K is an out and back course using a blocked off lane of Hwy 65: the 10K involves two loops.
• Safety measures: Course volunteers and deputies or firemen at every intersection ensure runner safety.

🏆 Trophies & Awards

• Awards structure: Top 3 male and top 3 female overall in the 5K and 10K win trophies.
• Medals: Olympic Style Gold, Silver, and Bronze medals awarded to various age groups.
• Costume contest: Encouragement for optional Halloween costumes with $50, $30, & $20 cash prizes.
• Award ceremony: Awards presented in person after each race with food and music to celebrate.

💧 Water Stations and Amenities

• Water stations: The 5K features two passes by our water station, while the 10K has a third water station.
• Finish line treats: Post-race refreshments include Krispy Kreme doughnuts, chocolate milk, and more.
• Restroom facilities: Clean restrooms are available inside the Mayflower and at the start/finish line.
• Entertainment: Our DJ will keep the tunes going to energize participants and spectators!

📅 Packet Pick-Up Information

• Early packet pick-up: Available from noon to 5pm on Thursday, Oct 23, and from 9am to 4pm on Friday, Oct 24.
• Race day registration: Opens at 6:15am and is possible online or at the Walk Up Registration Desk.
• Race day pickup: Those pre-registering after the early deadline will still receive their items inside the Mayflower.
