Cow Chip Classic Run/Walk

🏃‍♂️ Race Overview

The 45th annual 10K Run and 5K Run/Walk, sponsored by the Sauk Prairie Community Club, is being held in conjunction with the Wisconsin State Cow Chip Throw on Labor Day weekend. All racers begin in Prairie du Sac and cross the Wisconsin River. The 10K takes runners up "Heartbreak Hill," and follows a route which leads past the Lake Wisconsin Golf course and back into Prairie du Sac. 5K runners turn onto Golf Road for a distance and then turn back into town.

🕒 Race Information

• Timing: The race will be recorded with “Chip Timing.” Transponder chips used for recording will be attached to the race bib.
• Start Time: Race starts at 8:00 a.m. next to Marion Park, corner of Grand & Fourth, (near outdoor pool).
• Restrictions: No animals on race course or in the park.
• Community Impact: All proceeds from the race are donated back into the community through the Sauk Prairie Community Club.

🏅 Age Divisions

• Categories: 0-14, 5-year age brackets through 70, 70 & over for both male and female.
• Awards: Plaques awarded to winners, and medals to 2nd and 3rd place finishers.

🍹 Services & Facilities

• Post-Race: Refreshments and snacks served after the race.
• Facilities: Restrooms and showers available.

📝 Registration and Packet Pickup

• Location: At Marion Park, corner of Grand Ave and Fourth St (near the pool), Prairie du Sac.
• Early Registration: Friday, August 30th, 5:00-7:00 p.m.
• Race Day Registration: Saturday, August 31st, 7:00-7:45 a.m.
