Christmas Mountain 5 Mile Run

🎉 Event Overview

• Location: 210 East Sackett Avenue, Salida, CO

• Event: Celebrate Thanksgiving weekend and the lighting of Christmas Mountain with a 5 mile and 1 mile race.

🏃‍♂️ Race Details

• 5 Mile Course: Begins and ends at Riverside Park in downtown Salida, scenic and mostly flat (around 160 feet of elevation gain).
• Event Design: Designed for all runners: all ages and abilities are encouraged to participate.
• Packet Pickup: Will take place in Riverside Park, along with post race drinks, snacks, and awards.
• Start Time: Race begins at 10am, allowing time for participants to relax after Thanksgiving.

🎆 Community Festivities

• Parade: Annual Christmas Mountain parade begins at 6pm, followed by fireworks.
• Celebration: One of Salida's biggest and most celebratory nights each year.
• Community Goals: Encourage health, fitness, fun, and connections around the Thanksgiving holiday.
• Fundraising: Raise money for the Chaffee County Community Foundation during the holiday season.

🏅 Awards and Prizes

• Prize Money: Offered to the top finishers: top 3 M/F overall ($150/$100/$75).
• Masters Runner: First place M/F masters runner will receive $100.
• One Mile Run: Begins at approximately 10:05am: timed race with participant ribbons for all competitors.
• Course Details: Participants will run down Sackett Avenue, turn around after 1/2 mile, and head back to the finish line.
