Join us for the CASA Superhero 5K fun run/walk and 10K run through historic Leavenworth, KS, followed by a kids' superhero race (100 yards).
About CASA
The CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocate) concept is based on the belief that every child has the right to a safe, permanent home. Unlike attorneys and social workers, the CASA volunteer speaks exclusively for the child's best interests.
- Focused Support: By handling only one or two cases at a time, CASA volunteers can thoroughly explore each assigned case's history.
- Communication: Volunteers talk with the child, parents, family members, neighbors, school officials, doctors, and others involved in the child's life.
- Case Review: They review all records and documents about the child.
- Reporting: Volunteers submit a formal report to the court, making recommendations regarding the child's placement.
Entry Fees
- Standard Entry Fee: $40 through July 31st
- Late Registration: $45 from August 1st through August 26th
- Superhero Run (kids 12 & under): $10
