Join us for the 37th running of the Tom Fleming Sunset Classic sponsored by Brookdale Shop Rite, which benefits the Bloomfield Educational Foundation and the Vocational Educational Special Training (V.E.S.T) program.
🍔 Family Fun Activities
- Food and Beverages: There will be hot dogs, beverages, ice cream, and beer.
- Kids Activities: Kids Infield Sprints for 2 to 12-year-olds.
- Mile Event: The growing Rick Petersen Mile for all ages.
- 5 Mile Race: Of course, the Tom Fleming 5 Mile!
🏆 Awards for 5 Mile Race
- Top 3 Overall Winners: Male and Female: 1st Place $150, 2nd Place $125, 3rd Place $100.
- Top Bloomfielder: Top overall Male and Female.
- Masters Awards: Top 3 Masters Male and Female based on PLP %: 1st $100, 2nd $75, 3rd $50.
- Age Group Awards: Top 3 male and female in each division: 10 to 13, 14 to 19, 20 to 29, 30 to 39, 40 to 44, 45 to 49, 50 to 54, 55 to 59, 60 to 64, 65 to 69, 70 to 74, 75 to 79, 80 to 84, 85 to 89, 90 &: up.
🥇 Awards for Mile Race
- Overall Winners: Male and Female - Medals to all finishers.
- Timing: Rick Petersen Mile will be a timed event!
- Gun Time: ALL AWARDS ARE BASED ON GUN TIME.
📅 Registration Details
- Packet Pick-Up: Fleet Feet Montclair, 603 Bloomfield Ave, Montclair, NJ 07042.
- Days: Tuesday, June 24 from 12 noon to 6:00 PM and Wednesday, June 25 from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
- Race Day Registration: June 26 at Bloomfield's Foley Field, starting at 5:00 PM.
- Online Only: All Registrations will be online only this year.

🏃♂️ About Tom Fleming
Thomas J. Fleming was an American distance runner who won the 1973 and 1975 New York City Marathon. He was also a two-time runner-up in the Boston Marathon in 1973 and 1974 and finished six times in the top ten in the BAA marathon. He was one of the founding fathers of the Sunset Classic.
