ABOUT BRAD SCHOENER

Brad Schoener was a music director in the Upper Darby School District for 25 years. He lost a courageous battle to leiomyosarcoma cancer in 2009, but not before having an incredibly positive impact on the lives of countless students, colleagues, and friends. Brad was loved wherever he went and helped mold the future paths of thousands of children through his passion for music and his ability to bring out that passion in his students.

THE BRAD SCHOENER FUND

Proceeds from the 5K Run support the Brad Schoener Memorial Music Fund and its MusicMan Academy programs. The mission of Brad's Fund is to support the musical abilities and aspirations of instrumental music students in the Upper Darby School District through the funding of instruments, instruction, and experiences for interested and talented students who might not otherwise have the opportunities due to personal circumstances. Brad's Fund is supported by the Upper Darby Arts & Education Foundation.

You can still register the day of the race (t shirts are not guaranteed)!

If you registered already and you are ready to pick up your race bib & swag bag, please park your car for free at Drexel Hill Middle School or the Kindergarten Center and look for the tent on Arlington Field behind the Arlington Mansion (Toppitzer Funeral Home)! Our race check-in/bib pick-up process begins at 7:30 am on Saturday, May 16th.

EVENT SCHEDULE

• Event Start Time: 8:15 am - "Warm Up with the Y!" stretching with professional YMCA trainers.
• Race Kick-off: 8:30 am - "Inflate - a -Fun Run" with UDSD School Teams competing for the Schoener School Spirit Award!
• Special Guests: Expect exciting appearances during our pre-race festivities from 8:15 - 9:15 am.
• Post-Race Celebration: Join us as we celebrate our 15th year with family-friendly activities and live music along the 5K route.

AWARDS AND RECOGNITION

The MusicMan 5K is known for its unique finisher medals - actual working mini-harmonicas! Age Group awards are given (full size harmonicas) and Overall Male/Female race winners receive 14K gold plated harmonicas. It’s a very musical finish!
