Big Country CASA’s Superhero 5K

🦸‍♀️ Race Overview

Join us for the 9th Annual Superhero 5k Fun Run (Walk, Run or Fly!) at the ACU Williams Performing Arts Center in Abilene, Texas.

🤔 Why Run?

• Mission: We believe all children should be supported and feel safe and for the children experiencing abuse or neglect, this is not the case.
• Goal: The goal of our event is to increase awareness of our CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates) volunteer services advocating for children from Taylor County in the foster care system.
• Recruit: To recruit new volunteers and raise funds to support our mission.
• Benefit: All proceeds from our race will directly benefit Big Country CASA in our mission to give a “voice” to abused and neglected children in court.

💰 Registration Fee

• Adult Timed 5K: $30.00 (includes 2025 race shirt, if registered by April 10, 2025)
• Kids Timed 5K: $10.00 (2025 race shirt can be purchased for $10.00, if registered by April 10, 2025)
• Kids Untimed 5K: FREE (2025 race shirt can be purchased for $10.00, if registered by April 10, 2025)
• Chase the Villain: FREE (2025 race shirt can be purchased for $10.00, if registered by April 10, 2025)

⏰ Registration Deadline

Registration DEADLINE to guarantee 2025 Runner shirts CLOSES APRIL 10, 2025 @ 5pm!!!

All registrations AFTER the deadline will be given overflow shirts, if possible, in various colors. Size and color NOT guaranteed after 4/10/25.

🏃 Race Details

• Entrance: Entrance and parking from N. 16th Street. NO ENTRANCE from Judge Ely Blvd.
• Check-in: Race day check-in & day-of registration tables open on Saturday, May 3rd @ 7:45am.
• Wave Start: Runners will be released in waves starting with Elite Runners.
• Course: All participants will follow our designated course around the ACU neighborhood & Campus.

Awards will be given to top Male & Female runners in each age category.

PLEASE NOTE: Race route WILL include running on city streets!! Please be aware of motorist at all times and monitor children closely!!

Friday, May 2nd from 12 - 6pm @ Clark Nissan, 818 E Overland Trl, Abilene, TX 79601.

All participants are encouraged to dress up in a superhero theme and show your superhero spirit!

• Overall Top Male & Female: Trophy & $100 Gift Card
• Top Male & Female Youth: Medal for age category & $50 Gift Card
• Top Child: Medal for age category & $25 Gift Card

• 8:30 - Welcome, warm-up…
• 8:45 - National Anthem and Flag Presentation
• 9:00 - 5k Run Starts (Elite Runners 1st, Runners 2nd, Walkers/Strollers 3rd)
• 9:45 - Awards Ceremony for Runners
• 10:00 - “Chase the Villain” Children’s Run for 1 - 4 years (In front circle across from registration)
• 10:15 - “Chase the Villain” Children’s Run 4 - 12 years
